Do you know what it is like to discover something new? Well, I have found out.. Its great. I have discovered polymer clay. I cannot put it down now. I have still been doing some knitting and crocheting, but for the moment, poly clay is the passion. Check it out.

Since I have willfully given up he funky socks, I have decided to start working on the Japanese Feather socks. I am using the yarn that my pal dyed for me in June. Ain' It Purdy??

I tried and I tried but the color of the funky sock was not me... I unraveled it yet again and redyed it.. all purple. The yellow is not my thing, and I admit that now.. Oh well.

Funky Sock woes!!

I was sort of excited to be doing the wonderful Jaywalker pattern. Unfortunately I had already gotten to turning the heel when I decited to switch to the magic loop method so that I could try the sock on..... IT DOESN'T FIT!!! I know that the pattern yields a tighter sock because of the biased pattern, but it was so snug it would not go over the heel. I would not be able to get it on without ripping the yarn.... So...... I had to frog it and start over. This time I am doing it toe up. I have seen enough of the pattern to know that I want to have a pair of these socks. Wel, here goes.... Again.

Funky socks Revisited..

I tried as I might, but I just did not like the way the funky toe up socks were comming out. So, I decided to redo the socks with the Jaywalker pattern, but because I don't like working with size 1 needles, I readapted the pattern for my big size 3 needles.

Funky Socks!

I dyed some Nature Spun yarn in some funky purple and yellow dye... It's wonderful. I don't usually do such bright colors, but I thought I should give it a try. I think it is going well. Here are some pics.

I recieved some yarn that I ordered from Knitpicks.com. I ordered several of the laceweight yarns in several colors. I also ordered 2 patterns, Janet Lace Shawl, and the Adamas shawl. I dyed the color your own laceweight yarn pink and I started knitting the Adamas shawl. I think that it is going pretty well.

I checked my mail today and guess what I got? This beautiful yarn dyed by my project Spectrum buddy Traci. The colors came out beautifully, and she even made me these beautiful stitch protecters. I can tell that a lot of care went into them. Thank you Traci!!!!!!

Beautiful Sky

The other night Frank and I were noticing the sky. It was intense. I don't think that I have ever seen the sky look so unusual. It was calm, yet chaotic with vibrant colors. .... Unfortunately, this is what the sky looks like before violent thunder storms and massive flooding. :(

I have been so busy lately, that I forgot to post pictures of my new attempts at dyeing yarn. I stumbled upon Wiltons cake dyes at Michaels. I am working on my project spectrum yarn. So far I like the way that the blues are comming out. I had to tweak the dyes a bit. Silly me, I thought that if you add a little black to the blue wiltons that it would make a darker blue... NOT! Actually I guess wiltons black makes pink... Hmmmmmmm. I will have to do the final rinse though so keep your fingers crossed and hope it stays blue.

Its been a while since I have posted. I have been having major issues with my computer. ..Processor died... Luckily my honey came to the rescue and bought us a new one, my hero! I should be getting it sometime this week. Meanwhile, ii am using my moms old computer that is definately slow as molassas. :( Oh well at least it is something right?

Hail..... and lots of it!!. It rained the other day and it darn near scared me to death. I thought that someone was shooting at the car! There was hail almost the size of golf balls comming down.

Today has been a gread day off! I woke up and took F. to work and went to the doctor this morning.. Good news, I am healthy:). Cleaned up a little and then started my Clapotis for the yahoo knit along. I have just started but it seems to be going along well. I am charging up the batteries in the ole camera so I will post pics soon... hopefully.
